This book sounded so enticing by the description, as I love a "forbidden" book, but I did not find Lust very forbidden, in the sense that Brandon is a pastor, looking for a wife, so not so forbidden. He is "courting:" Mariana's sister, but even that was not too bad.
All in all this story was 4 stars, because the writing was good, the story was interesting, and the fmc Mariana was strong, independent, and spoke her mind, which I absolutely loved.

Mariana is a true gem of a person, her family on the other hand not so much.
Brandon’s outlook in religion was refreshing, specially since he’s a pastor but he was too immature for his age. He had moments of sass and wisdom but I perceived him as a manchild, found it difficult to empathise and connect with his character.
Overall, enjoyed the writing but won’t be rereading.
