I had no idea what this book was about when I decided to read it and I went into it blind. I was shocked at first but kept reading because these types of books just really pull me in. I ended up loving it. This really is a book about finding just one thing to live for each day. It's beautiful work in my eyes.

Omg I was so afraid of this book being a letdown. The cover of the book definitely matches the vibe of the book. It feels like a modern day retelling of early 1900s book. Loved every second of it. Dark humor throughout, but doesn't ruin the beautiful setting. Cant say much without spoilers, but it's up there for my favorite of the year.

TW miscarriage.

Okay, now I understand why everyone was talking about this all last summer. I don’t know why I put it off for so long! Wise and funny, I did not expect to be as touched by this book as I was. Complex characters and great plotting that keeps you guessing on what they will do next.

I picked this one up to read on a recent vacation, because it seems like people are always reading stuff like this on vacation, so I thought I'd give it a go. Also, location is Newport, RI, which is a very summer kind of place.

A woman checks into a hotel to escape her life (career, ended marriage, etc., etc.) only to find she is the only one at the hotel not related to a 6 day long wedding extravaganza. She meets the bride and other members of the bridal party and various antics ensue, issues get worked out, and new relationships are formed.

I went through this one very quickly, thanks to a flight and recovering from a vacation-induced (,yes, again, Dawn,) cold. And I have to say I liked it. Between liked and really liked, hence the 0.5 star. I really enjoyed the character development and how the various interpersonal relationships were explored. All kinds of familial stuff comes out at weddings, especially a six day affair, especially when everyone is staying in the same hotel.

It wasn't as funny as the book jacket implied. I chuckled here and there, but I wouldn't say it was "hilarious." Amusing at times with decent banter.

Would recommend.
