I marathoned the first 80% of this book and was ready to give it a 4.5. The first 50 pages actually had me in tears. I took a day off of reading then came back to finish it, and for some reason the last fifth didn’t grab me like the rest of it had. I really enjoyed the experience of reading this and the effort the author took in building personalities for the central characters even though this is a Rom Com. She didn’t have to do that for me but she did and I’m grateful. Writing was easy and, at times, beautiful. I recommend this one!!

I enjoyed this one! I was very hooked especially when I found out the plot twist towards the beginning. I wasnt expecting that
Gary was gonna be the guy she talked to in the hot tub
I usually don't like endings that
have the readers assume they end up together but it works for this book

The author didn’t put a trigger warning so here are some without giving too much away:
- depression
- suicidal thoughts
- parental death
- spousal death
- infertility
- infertility loss

I am sure I missed some but these were too intense not to give at the very beginning.

I actually really enjoyed this story. Although it started off pretty dark, the character development of the FMC was told in a very captivating way. I enjoyed people watching and interacting with different relatable people in all walks of life. Kind of crazy to read about a time that we all lived in not to long ago. It became a hopeful story. The banter and wit between the FMC and some characters were very enjoyable as well.

The beginning of this book was shocking and a bummer and almost put me off of continuing, but I figured it had to get better with all of the glowing reviews. And it did. It was so insightful about people. I felt like my own flaws and quirks and personality were being expertly laid out in some aspect of each character. I’m going to be thinking about this one for awhile. It made me laugh out loud and also made me tear up, but it was beautiful. Take care with the great detail about suicide and depression that are outlined.
I liked that the love story was left open-ended and implied because the journey was really about her.
