I didn't realize what I had won, but it was interesting. Normally, I'm not a hard sci-fi or western novel-reading person. The combination was as intriguing as it was a bit daunting. I'm glad I read it though, and now have a respect for the genre. You can tell that this volume, and presumably the others, are lovingly compiled.
