Whilst death note had an incredibly strong start, I do think the quality is starting to waver, especially at the incredibly dragged out end. On the other hand though, Light is written brilliantly and his lack of an emotional response to killing anyone or the deaths of people around him is very well executed. I love how he's slowly begging to think he truly is god, like all his followers have been saying.
