The Black Swan affair is a stand alone novel by KL Kreig. This book features the story of the DeSoto's and the Shepards.
Imagine having the bestest friend a girl could ever ask for, one you know loves you but, you could only look at him as nothing but a friend -because you are madly in love with his brother.
Knowing that he shares those feelings, you mentally plan you whole life only to have reality smack you in the face and have said man marry your sister!
At first, I was a little confused about the way the story was laid out. There are shifts between past and present but as you progress, the timing makes sense. You get a little of both the main characters and how they felt in a particular point in time.
This book will gut you and having you feeling like you want to put a pause on life just to find out who, what, where, when, why and how.
In case you are wondering, because I was, this book is a complete story, no cliffhangers and does a great job at answering all your questions.

I really enjoyed this BUT I did think it was a little too long winded. It could have been a little shorter - but I loved that it was dual POV, that it jumped from the present to the past was great (and helped moved the plot along).

There was heat (it could have been even spicier if I am being honest) - and I loved the evolution of Maverick.

Recommended read. It's got a plot and spice. win-win.

Wow…I was not expecting that. Heartbreaking, hopeful and beautiful.

4 ½ stars ❤️

P.S.: this book deserves a better cover.

5.75/10 | enjoyed | guilty pleasure read | love triangle was great but romance meh | plot twist was underwhelming | disliked the nonlinear narrative

A reread (via audio) that I really needed! Loved this story the second time as much as the first!

I am going to be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this or not because it is a love triangle and sometimes they get me anxious
