gorgeous, with brief essays accompanying each piece, written by the artist herself (with only one exception i can remember, for an artist that died in 2002) explaining some portion of the process, inspiration, or the state of book arts as a whole. i sketched and read and dreamed all day.

I loved discovering the many unique and unusual artists' books culled from the collection at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, but was disappointed that the page numbers mentioned in the introduction are almost all wrong. (I suspect they were correct for the first edition and someone forgot to check them in this second edition.)
