Don't ignore the reviews: this book is one dimensional and, as one reviewer said, reads like "a fanfiction written in 2016 that was never revised again."

If you liked
Icebreaker, skip this and just read the rest of the books in Hannah Grace's series.

The narrators: I wish the FMC narrator was the only one. The MMC narrator's voice was too bro-ey, and his feminine voices were downright horrific.

The plot: Doesn't exist. I imagine Lia Riley wrote one-shot, lemony fanfiction in 2014—the kind that you skim-read because it was mediocre but you were holding out hope for the sex.

The characters: I can't tell you a single meaningful thing about these characters. Riley tried to give them dimension through family issues, but the effort fell flat because none of the obstacles were resolved in any real way. It was also painfully obvious that the author was setting up a book about the sister and the coach with oddly placed mentions of baseless "tension" between the two.

The smut: I mean, it's okay, I guess? It's genuinely the only marginally redeeming element in the book. Even then, the dialogue in the sex scenes was off, only a little less cringey than the dialogue throughout the book.

Overall: This was a short read—I finished it in a day—and was so poorly written that I couldn't stop listening. You know, like how you can't look away from a car crash or from watching That One Friend make another stupid decision? It was that. Anyway, don't be That One Friend. Respect yourself enough to look for better romance stories (even plotless smut!) than this.
