Of the books in the series so far, this is the one that I enjoyed the least. The good reason for reading it is to find out about Will's background, however the story, whilst riveting was not believable (ok, much of Will Robie is not believable) but somehow this one went too far.

A different story for Robie; after his difficulty in book #3, he takes time to go back to his roots where his father has been arrested for murder. Jessica ends up there too and they manage to uncover the real story... of course, with many dead bodies about. The story is a bit tricky to believe (really? Baldacci?) but hard to put down.

Another page turner from David Baldacci. This time Will Robie has to contend with patching things up with his father while solving about 3 dozen murders and saving himself and Jessica from every bad guy on earth trying to kill them.
Great fun. A real page-turner as you would expect.

Baldacci knocks it “out of the park” again. The twists and turns are amazing, as to be expected. I never saw the killer coming.

The Guilty by David Baldacci
Have enjoyed the other mysteries of the author and knew I'd enjoy this one.
Although 95% of the books I read are romance I do like a change of genre from time to time.
This one starts out with the shooting and things went wrong, a little girl stepped in front of her mother and both of them were shot.
He has nightmares and ends up leaving to go home to his father's. He finds out he's imprisoned-he's a judge and things aren't right with the investigation.
His father doesn't want his help but gets it anyways. With the help of a lawyer and Will doing the investigations now his dad might have a chance to get out of there.
Lots of action, fast paced and you can hear the sounds of the shots as this is an audio tape. Other family try to help but with their testimony it might not really be helping the case. Interesting descriptions of the Biloxi/Cantrell scenery and talk of Katrina and it's aftermath.
Blue Man in DC is helping him but things are getting more complicated and he needs to drop the case....
Maybe Agent Jess could help in this case...he keeps asking if she's surfaced...

Baldacci writes a good story. All sorts of twists and intrigue. My only "complaint" is that they are always so dire and all encompassing.
I've read many of his characters and I think I like Will Robie the least. Thankfully, there is no undercurrent of forced romance.

I've read all Baldacci books (except one now) and if I had to pick my FAVORITE new series of his right now it would be these Will Robie series. Not that I don't like John Puller but Will Robie and Jessica Reel are my new favorite characters and hope he does a few more of them in the near future.
This one was a little different for Will Robie and this time he has to go back home and deal with old "family drama" and to make amends with his dad who has been convicted of a murder he did or didn't do. it's also up to father and son to work together and put their differences between the two of them aside and prove if his dad is truly guilty or not. FANTASTIC story for this character but one "pet peeve" is no Julie! Not even a short phone call.
But overall I LOVED this one and that twist when you put things together after one line in one of the last chapters oh. my. gosh. I was "freaking out" and just too engrossed with the end result so best twist EVER!! Loved this book and love Robie and Reel.
