I enjoyed this book but not as much as Grumpy Fake Boyfriend, which was my first read from Lau. But again I liked that the story was set in Canada for a change, specially the part in Toronto, as I've been there.

But I loved meeting with Nick's family and I'm curious to discover other Wongs in subsequent novellas. Maybe the thing that didn't work with me was that it's suppose to be a one-night stand thing, which worked for Lily but not so much for the suppose expert of those, Nick. The chemistry between the MCs didn't work with me. Also her trying to be naughty and swearing, and him who couldn't get her out of his mind. Felt forced. But I loved their second meet-cute, because of Nick's grand parents meddling into their grand children's love life, using romance books' tropes. It end up working, but not the way they expected. I'm curious to see if they'll keep meddling in the next novellas.

What a Thanksgiving treat this turned out to be! Delicious food descriptions, a wonderful sense of place, hilarious family members, steamy sex scenes…This is the beginning of a series, and I am so here for the rest.

Loved the plot and loved the food descriptions, but the writing was somewhat stilted, and the journey felt compressed, like they went from a one-night stand to falling in love with nothing (really) in between. Part of that is just the terseness of the writing
