Having read multiple unsatisfying mysteries in the past few months, I went in with exactly zero expectations. I'll admit, the beginning was a bit like watching paint dry, but then, out of the blue, we got Mignon's perspective and it changed the game.

amelia ashley is an internet star, with a food blog and a youtube channel full of vlogs. on a trip to rome with her boyfriend, josh, everything seems find and dandy. until josh gets on the plane back to california with amelia no where to be found. everyone is accusing josh, thinking he was a monster underneath a mask of charm. harper delgado ends up looking into what happened to amelia after tori, amelia’s friend, reached out to her. through harper’s hacking, she discovers to much that the police never found and with that, we find out what “happened” to amelia and the girl who went missing two years prior.

this was honestly a good book, fast paced, and has an amazing plot. i feel the author could’ve done a bit more with plot twists because i think anyone reading this would’ve found out who did it halfway through the book.

i knew immediately that amelia had set josh up, but i didn’t know how far it truly went until i got halfway through the book. i though that the girl who went missing two years prior to what happened in rome had changed her name and was scheming with an elaborate plan to put her perpetrator behind bars. but really it was amelia’s sister who had gone missing. and then amelia changed up her identity, got new identification papers, and set out to get her revenge on josh reuter.

again i was really hoping for a more exciting end to this thriller, but justice was served, amelia finally found her sister, and the rest is unknown. i wish we got an epilogue of some sort whether it was from amelia or harper, i feel like that would’ve been a nice ending to the book. but the ending itself was very clear in saying that josh was caught and although we have no idea if amelia survived, at least we know that her and her sister got justice.

very good book, i’d recommend this book to anyone who hasn’t gotten into the thriller genre as it’s definitely more soft core than most thrillers that are out there!
