Very interesting. It's not written very well, but the concepts are wonderful. It's a book that seems to help you change your own focus to a more positive and can-do attitude. It's a little hokey because of the spiritual bent. I didn't expect that, but I don't disagree with it. I think it has great tools that I will try to use to improve my life and relationships.
read this because Marc Maron recommended it. I'm with them until they get to the "higher power" stuff. Not for me.
I guess maybe this just wasn't for me? I found it repetitive and, while trying to be different, wasn't all that unique of a way of thinking/changing. It felt like much the same, just repackaged using different words or phrases.
Some interesting ideas, but I found the emphasis on the "higher powers" pretty off-putting, particularly during the second half of the book, where the authors seem to go out of their way to denigrate skepticism, the scientific method, and science in general. For those of us who don't buy the idea that the universe has an intelligent consciousness, much of what they have to say is hard to swallow. Some of the techniques they offer seem promising, though, so there must be a way to incorporate the method without having to buy into the intense spirituality.
