are we just going to ignore he stalked her and lyla and lach were just like “we did that!” like seriously… if i found out this wacko was stalking me i would’ve been mad so at least a week not 4 hours!  especially for someone who valued privacy and independence. ALSO we never get any closure with tiago AT ALL. he’s just says something sus and then we never know if it was incriminating or not. in addition, there were too many characters i was confused. i feel like there were too many open plot lines that never got resolved and not in a “oh up to the imagination” way like a “literally wtf happened” way. i also hate men that are like YOURE MINE. ok calm down finn and let the paramedics do their job? stop acting like a child and give her like 2 seconds? why does every male lead use their girl for sex after something bad happened in their life? and why  do the female leads let them? oh also the format of the inciting incident is confusing and i just kept reading hoping id understand it later but i still couldn’t explain the timeline to you.

Hello? Is the hockey romance in the room with us? Because I can’t seem to find her. This book made a mistake that is a huge pet peeve of mine - a hockey romance with little to no hockey. You know what there was a lot of though? Sex. Like, A LOT of sex. I’m not exactly complaining because I’ll admit, it was really hot but sometimes I find that when there is just sex scene after sex scene they can get a little repetitive. I think at least four of the spicy scenes could have been cut and it would still have been just as hot.

This book was good, not great. It had a lot of potential though - I wish it was slightly darker and that they had kept that animosity and tension they had in the beginning going for slightly longer. However, the narration for this audio book gets a solid 5/5 because they were both fantastic.

I would recommend it if you’re looking for a spicy romantic suspense with a MMC that falls first and definitely falls harder.

Thanks to Dreamscape Select & The Wicked Pen for the audio ARC ❤️

Four years ago one night changed everything. Finn Barlow is known to attract the ladies. Tall, broody and a professional NHL player had one night with a woman who is now his obsession. A year ago tragedy struck and Finn Barlow is back in town and wants answers on what happened that fateful night but I don’t have them. He is making me question everything and I’m determined to prove him wrong.

What a book. First, it starts strong with mysterious events, then during the middle it slows down but that ending brings it back. I didn’t know what to expect. Both these characters have been through a lot. There are a lot of secrets, betrayals and lies. The plot twists I didn’t see coming and guessing who was behind it I was completely wrong. This man Finn is obsessed with the FMC Jocelyn. I felt it was a little much in the middle of the book but with his over protective obsessive behaviour. But I can’t lie Finn Barlow is delicious. I don’t want to say too much it’s best to go in blind but be mindful of content. Also the narrators for the audiobook Janine and Stephen are brilliant recommend.

This book was so good. I devoured it in less than 24 hours. Had me hooked from the first chapter. A classic case of whodunit, except how do you solve a murder when the whole town covers it up? When the most influential of the town have their hands in everything and their peckers in everyone, finding the truth becomes a struggle. Watching Josslyn piece together the tragic events of her (sometimes) toxic af friend’s death while trying to prove to her infuriatingly hot brother that she and her family had nothing to do with it, was full of telanovela twists and emotional turns that left me shaking my head. I was giggling out loud at the way Finneas does a complete 180 and fanning myself to keep from overheating in the very same chapter.
Although this is not a sequel to Until I Get You, which was released in 2018, it is in the same world, with some characters popping up in When We Lied. You know it's a good story when you not only fall for the MMC but re fall in love with the MMC from the last book as well.

I was so excited for this book because I loved Until I Get You. I enjoyed Finn and the relationship between him and Joss. I didn’t love this one as much as the previous book, but I liked it. I like the danger/suspense elements, Claire is good at that. The only thing is, that I guessed the whole ending very early in the book which took some of my interest and excitement away I like to be shocked and surprised. Something was missing for me, I don’t know if that something is in relation to the storyline or the relationship development, but I just needed more of something.
