This story was moving and lovely. It felt like a memoir, like I was learning about a family’s history and their different ways of loving each other.  While it had hard themes, it was told with such a gentle hand that seemed respectful of similar true events.

Great story simply told. I was hoping for more depth, but much of it was surface-level. I was compelled to keep reading to find out what happened next. I enjoyed Norma’s chapters more than Joe’s. The ending was abrupt.
