It was lots of fun for what it is - a deliciously steamy, quick read - but there were elements I didn't like.

I get that Jax has been played before, but I felt like he carried on in that belief about Lexi for way too long. Man, if she'd been playing you, it wouldn't have been an anonymous hook-up, and she wouldn't have flatly declined when you expressed a desire to continue seeing her. She wouldn't have insisted on darkness, to shield her own identity, and she wouldn't have been so damn nervous. I mean, come on. I feel like he was being an overly dramatic, emo, self-absorbed douche.

Because it was clear that Lexi had some similar scars from her own past, and he didn't seem to care about that at all. At the end, my one disappointment was that Lexi bent over backwards to understand him, accommodate him, and show her feelings ... while he was the one sabotaging and running at the first obstacle.

I don't feel like he ever did anything to deserve her. And that's rough, because Lexi is pretty damn amazing. She handles all his bullshit with more compassion and grace than I ever could.

But this book is not really meant to be read that deeply, because it is casual fun with incredible steam. You don't get more than a hand-waving indication of their backgrounds, and that's okay. Take it for what it is and have fun. Fair warning, though, the ending is REALLY abrupt - to the point that it feels cut off. We get our HEA, but just barely.

>Reckless is a cute, fun and lovely read therefore 3.5 dresses/stuntmen. This usually isn't my genre with Hollywood/stars/actors and actresses but I really enjoyed it!

Jax has literally been fucked over and has had all the same problems with women all the time. As a former actor now stuntman women only want him for his contacts nothing more nothing less. He wants to take a break but while on a job to New York he gets to know a mysterious woman.
Lexi grew up dirt poor and has fought tooth and nail for everything that she has achieved in the fashion industry as a wedding designer. Her best friend Rubi Russo (features in Rebel) gets her to try out an App she is preparing for the NSA it picks up on peoples numbers and info. Lexi and Jax's paths cross at the airport and Lexi starts to write to him over the App. I loved how the banter was between the two and how they got an insight to one another without looks getting in the way. Jax and Lexi are more similar than they thought.
But in regards to Hollywood it is a cut throat business and Leci made the right choice.

I expected more of an ending......

I enjoyed this book and I will continue the series.

4.5-5 Recklessly HOT stars!

reckless by Skye Jordan
"I just really love wickedly hot sex with a woman who loves wickedly hot sex."

Wow. That was one hot, sexy, fun book! Reckless by Skye Jordan was a perfect blend of hot sex (really hot sex), interesting story, and great banter. I love a book with great banter...and this time it's via text! Even more fun! I tend to love books that have texting or facebooking in it. It's so true to life nowadays.

Jax is an ex-actor turned hollywood stuntman. All manly-man and rugged, he's tired of the gorgeous women he's gone out with using him to get a part. He's jaded and pissed off after his last 'girlfriend' sold him out to get a part. Lexi is a haute couture wedding dress designer for the hollywood elite. She has worked her fingers to the bone to get where she is, including a few years of modeling.  She doesn't have time for men, but even more important...her career depends on a squeaky clean reputation. She can't associate with bad boys.

But when she sees Jax get out of his friend's car at the airport, with his longish black hair, a few days of scruff, and the sexiest designer black motorcycle jacket Lexi has ever seen...well...

Lexi's friend Rubi (loved her!) is a software developer who gave Lexi an app to try out in the airport. She was able to find out the phone number of anyone she pointed the phone at. Well, even though she didn't want to get involved with anyone, she decided a little anonymous flirting with the hot and sexy biker boy  while she was waiting for her plane might be fun.

They were immediately flirting via text. I sat there during this whole part with a stupid grin on my face. How fun is that? She is flirting with him, can watch him, he is flirting back but has no idea with whom. He just knows that all the women in the terminal are fairly attractive, but it could be any one of them. They chat back and forth for a while, and he keeps begging to see her. But when he reveals he's a hollywood stuntman, she also realizes he has real potential to mess up her career. But the texting still ramps up to sexting, because the attraction was more than obvious, even via text.

sexting

LEXI: What kind of sex do you like?

JAX: I like the fiery, fast sex so passionate your vision blurs.

JAX: I like wild, frantic, have-to-have-you sex that burns you alive.

JAX: I like deep, driving sex where sweat drips off my chin, rolls down your spine, and tickles the dip between your ass cheeks.

JAX: I like secret sex in naughty places, and naughty places to have secret sex.

JAX: I like the kind of sex that includes sliding my tongue into all your very tight spaces.

JAX: I like any kind of sex that drives animalistic sounds from your throat.

Holy shit!

They continue (after Jax has a short nap and fuckhot dream) to chat over the plane's internet throughout the flight. Jax still doesn't know who she is. They decide to meet for some hot real-life sexing. But Lexi insists he keeps the lights off when they meet...so he still doesn't see her. The only problem is...they took the red-eye, and he has to head to work. But before he does:
"I'm going to ease your ache, Lexi." He bit her earlobe gently. Soothed the spot with his lips.
"But I don't have a lot of time, so tell me what kind of release you want?"
Hard and fast? Fast and deep?

"I'm going to do it all again tonight" -another beat- "with my mouth." He pressed his lips to the space just below her ear, then whispered, "But when I'm inside you, you're going to come so hard you scream."

Reckless Skye Jordan

Holy fuckballs, this was one HOT book! There wasn't just some sex, there was a LOT of sex! And it was the good kind! Why? Because Jax was:
"A real man. The kind of man who made her hot and wet and needy. The kind of man who wasn’t afraid to take charge or give real pleasure."

Reckless by Skye Jordan

Even though he still hadn't seen her, Jax knew he wanted more. There was a definite connection between these two. But Lexi was warned to watch out for the company she keeps. The partnership she was competing for was watching her every move.  She had no idea that he was an ex actor in the upper echelons of Hollywood.
“She was delicious. Completely, radically luscious. And he wanted more. More than just sex, more than just tonight…..”

Likes:

  • -OMG hot sex!

  • -The text flirting had me smiling and swooning.

  • -I loved both characters.

  • -The side characters of Rubi and Wes were great too.

  • -The attraction before he even saw her face.

  • -No words I love to hate (like petals of her flower or turgid)

  • -Standalone with a great ending

Dislikes:

  • -The second half did not live up to the first, some of the angst just pissed me off.

  • -I wanted more. More about each character...there was plenty of sex, but I would have liked more story and character development.

Reckless by Skye Jordan was different, completely sexy as hell, had characters I loved and was oh-so-hot! I will read any book she releases, and I'm so excited to see there will be more in this series. (Don't worry, this stands alone). The only reason it wasn't a full 5 star read for me was there was almost too much sex (WTF? Did I just write that?) compared to story. This is one book I'd actually love to read again (Mr. Ana would like that too!), and I would like to know the characters a little more outside the bedroom too.
“Yes, I want to keep you more than I want to breathe.”

I love when I find a book that I think will just be a light fluff summer read and it turns out to be amazing. Reckless was one of those books for me. I started it late last night and loved it from the get go.

Jax and Lexi are both very similar. They both have issues trusting people. They both have had people hurt them in the past. They both have insecurities and issues to work through, but right from the start they are so good for each other. From the moment they see each other at the airport there is something there. This is not a insta-love story, even though it kind of it. The characters don't realize it, but you can feel the love between them from the start.

Jax has dated lots of not so good women. Women who use him for his connections or what he can do for them. The last one was the worst. She slept with him then used what she learned to screw him out of a job (he works and runs stuntman in Hollywood). His friend and coworker keeps telling him he needs to find a nice woman, not these users he keeps sleeping with.

Lexi has always been careful, and has had to be careful her whole life. She is a high end wedding dress designer. She cannot be seen to have anything negative associated with her. Her clients are the rich and famous and won't work with someone with blemishes on their record. She has to stay on the up and up. She also is used to guys only wanting her for how she looks. She used to be a model and knows that guy like to have her on their arm to show her off. When she broke up with the last guy he tried to take her business down in retaliation, so she has been weary of that ever since.

When Lexi and Jax see each other outside the airport when they are both headed to New York there is something there. Jax tires to ignore it, and Lexi puts on her 'disguise' so people in the airport won't stare. Lexi happens to be testing some app for her bff that let's her see everyone's cell phone number, and she can write them or call them without the other person knowing who she is (yeah yeah, sounds crazy and like not a good idea at all to test out on random people, but I just pushed that aside as it got me to where I wanted to be). She starts texting Jax and their text back and forth are so cute. Even without them knowing who the other person really is they are great. Their texts were flirt and hot and cute and fun. I loved it. I wanted more. You could feel the connection even then.

Luckily they flirt back and forth enough that Lexi decides to go a little wild and hook up with Jax. From the first moment they met in person (in the dark so Lexi doesn't freak out as much - Jax can't even really see Lexi) you can feel the love between them. I really felt like their physical relationship was all making love, not just sex. Even with the hot and fast there was still this love between them (even though neither person realized it). The whole book just wrapped me up in this cocoon of love and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It wasn't easy, they both had issues to work through, but they made it work eventually. Lexi needs to learn to let go, to be herself and take some risks. Jax needs to learn to trust Lexi and not put his insecurities from his family onto her. they both need each other. I really loved this story. They were so sweet and cute and wonderful together. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Hopefully it will be just as good.

This story was phenomenal. I loved Jax and Lexi, Rubi and Wes. All of the characters were well developed and fantastic! This story was fresh and new and unlike anything I've ever read before. Excellent story and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I'm really between a 3 and 3.5 for this one.
It's indeed really awesome, and oh so hot.

description

I loved the story and the characters.
But, I did find that the book lacked of content in the story line. 85% of this book was sex.
And I mean I do love sex scenes, but I can't completely enjoy a book if it's only that, and not much else.
I need to get involved with the characters, grow fond of them, want them together for ever.
Which did actually happen in this book, but not a lot. I really would have loved to get more pages, with them being together not only in a sexual relationship.

And there was no epilogue, which is something I always look forward to. It's what makes the ending beautiful, knowing they got a HEA that lasts. So that kind of sucked.

But I still think it's a book worth reading, just that it could have been longer, without the story being used too much.
