I actually really enjoyed this play! Very interesting premise and some very good writing. It was only after I discovered that it was written by a woman that I was able to wrap my head around how someone could so excellently-for-this-era-in-society challenge the norms of gender and genre on the stage. Glad I read it!

required reading for class, too many characters, too much extra stuff going on. was cool to read a play based on actual events though

Disappointing. I was intrigued by the premise - it has some cool parallels to prison theater programs I have read about - but it never came together for me. The characters and their relationships are under developed and the scenes feel very fragmented. I also think the use of the aboriginal character(s) is really under developed and pretty tone-deaf for a modern play

I have to study this for A Level Theatre Studies and to be honest it isn’t my favourite thing we do but that may be due to the way we have to write about this play. Overall the characters are all clear individuals and mostly have fun personalities and the play discusses some important topics and debates.

A good play and one very rich in Brechtian devices for people studying it for AS level Drama as I did.
