DNF for me. I really like this author but I couldn't get into this book. The story line was taking so long to start that by the time it got interesting I no longer cared what happened. Total bummer, moving on to other Mary Kubica books, since all others I read were 5 stars.
3.5⭐️ this was kind of weird but the audiobook narrator has most satisfying voice ever
I appreciate a good mystery that unfolds by overlapping, nonlinear tales from multiple perspectives. This one left me wondering who to trust until nearly the very end. Good ending
This book surprised me. I thought it would be a typical psychological thriller following the same typical narrative, but I really enjoyed learning about the three main characters of the novel, especially Willow. I would have liked to have had a bit more mind fuckery though, but maybe that’s just me.

Thought this was a good read. The mystery in it kept changing and I really liked that it kept me on my toes as the story unfolded. Felt for the characters in this book.

This book was written really well, but I had to take breaks. It messed with me mentally and made me have anxiety because of one of the main characters mental anguish. It is so well done I felt the things she felt. It truly is a good book I just needed space.

I didn't really like this book. Immediately I noticed that the author's style was overly wordy, which irritated me and slowed down the whole book. This morning, as I was finishing up, I also noticed that the words chosen didn't always suit the person thinking/saying them. For example, would Willow, a girl with virtually no education, notice the "bateau" neckline on a "peridot" coloured dress? And why would she even care? It's not like she didn't have better things to worry about!
The first two thirds felt boring and hard to get through. The pace eventually picked up, only to take a turn for the bizarre. Would Heidi really behave that way? I wasn't buying it. Consequently, the ending felt super rushed and unbelievable.
After enjoying Kubica's previous book, I was pretty disappointed with this one. If you were to ask my advice, I'd say read "The Good Girl" but give this one a miss.
