Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook by Mark Bray is very informative. It gives a quick overview of the history of fascism in the world. The information comes at you lightning fast, so if you don’t already have much knowledge of some areas of world history it is a very quick overview that you may or may not remember all of. My little brain was packed to the gills with information. I like to think that I have at least now been exposed to this information, though I might not be able to recall it if someone quizzed me.
The overview of Antifa, who they are and what they do, was also presented as scattered and with a broad view. This is probably because Antifa is a world wide response to individual manifestations of fascist behaviors and so it’s very individual to its time and place.
In fact, I thought while reading this book that it would have been a good work to assign to a college class. I could totally see this book as assigned reading. I’d read a chapter and then listen to a lecture about it. Later I’d memories key words, facts, and information the teacher thought was pertinent for the test I’d be taking.
That’s how I’d classify this book—as academic. It was ok just as a regular everyday read but it would really be great if it went with a lecture and other books similar to it so that a person could really get a sense of what to do about fascism and how to stand up to it.

Main critique of the book itself is that it does a lot of jumping around place and times so it can be a tiny difficult to track (at least over audio). Main gripe for the audio book was some of the narrator’s pronunciations. Especially how he said Muslim — said it like muesli. And he pronounced eschew as s-CHew.
Unforgivable.
