This was just as cute as the previous book!

Origami Yoda has returned, but Harvey introduces Darth Paper into the mix and it Does.Not.Go.Well. For two months Dwight/Yoda and Harvey/Darth battle it out, over the bug project, over electives and, well, over everything. Then Jen asks Yoda for cheerleading advice and suddenly Dwight is suspended from school, possibly being transferred to CREF (where the undesirables go). Tommy and the gang swing into action to save him, and Yoda.

What's so fun about this is that you not only have real friendships portrayed, but Harvey is allowed his $.02 via comments, doodles and even a "chapter" in the case file the kids prepare. How fair is that?

I love the Origami Yoda stories. Cute, clever and heartwarming!! Highly recommended.

I am always a little hesitant with sequels - especially ones that might end up in the middle of a series/trilogy. However, Angleberger really does well with this second book. I liked it as much and possibly even more than the first one. A lot of great lessons in the book without being preachy too. And I LOVE the reference to Robot Dreams. :-)

It was okay, but Origami Yoda was better.

Tommy and Dwight are back for an all new adventure! This sequel picks up shortly after Origami Yoda. Things went well in the 6th grade(the boys got girlfriends, learned to dance) after Dwight shared his origami Yoda and it's wisdom. Tommy and friends think 7th grade well be exactly the same, but are disappointed when Yoda meets his nemesis Darth Paper who is wielded by Harvey (class clown/occasional bully). It looks like the dark side is strong with Harvey and his plan of getting Dwight kicked out of school is just the tip of the iceberg. Can Tommy and the gang stop the evil Darth Paper or will Harvey rule the the school with his dark side of the force? As Yoda would say "Read book and discover the answers you will."

Hate Harvey like Dwight best book ever

This would probably be a 3 1/2 stars on the goodreads scale, though I gave it 4 on Bookbag. Fun story, good for tweens. Lots of Star Wars geekery and even instructions for making your own Darth Paper (and emergency Origami Yoda).

Read & reviewed for the Bookbag:

An excellent sequel to The Strange Case of Origami Yoda. You definitely should read that one first. Tommy & Kellan are trying to save Dwight from being expelled. But are Harvey and his Darth Paper to blame? With Dwight and Origami Yoda suspended, will the Dark Side take over the school? Recommend for grades 5 & up.

Fun story, though I was worried that the increase in Star Wars inside jokes might turn off some readers. Also, Harvey got pretty mean with his comments and I'm not sure the little twist at the end of the book did anything to redeem him. Cute, but not as good as the first one.

Another funny read even though it did start off slow. My only real problem with the book is that it would have trouble standing alone. Kids definitely need to read the first one in order to fully understand the second.
