Started off strong, I was disinterested by the end.

I was interested at first but as it went on it lost me and became just meh.
Really good read. Normally I like mysteries and such but this one held my attention and the Biblical aspect was amazing. I love that it focused on the women of the Bible (Specifically Dinah). There was a point where it got a little dull but it picked right back up.

I love this amazing story of women. I also think this is a great book because I can share it with some many different women in my life, from my mom to my best friends.
I probably should have reread the Old Testament in preparation for this so that I didn't worry that Benia was the same as Benjamin for a good 20 pages.
I’m all for books from women’s points of view and recognizing the power they had even in histories that tried to erase it. Lots of moments from this book were so powerful and intriguing. The thing that bothered me was how unfair it was to the men of the Bible. I’m alright with showing flaws and making them more human but I felt like the book made them into complete villains didn’t doesn’t seem right to me. Plus the whole thing was a little too slow.

I loved this book. It is not one that would naturally grabbed my attention so I am thankful for the reading challenge member that recommended it.
Dinah is a name lost to history but a beautiful story that Anita Diamant tells with a great voice. I highly recommend this to any woman (men too but women would relate better!).

I really liked this book. It was easy to read and the writing was good. I thought it was an interesting story about Old Testament characters and it made me think I need to brush up on my knowledge of biblical characters (my husband explained the story of Joseph and the dreams to me! I also liked Dinah's voice and her story about the lives of women in those times.
