I don’t think this author is for me. I found the guy insufferable and the girl barely written. There is a lot of trauma and it feels like it is done just to make the book more dramatic.

I was sucked in from page one. I don’t know how to describe this expect that I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time bracing for the worst. And this book was devastating. So many tears. But even after something that I would consider the darkest moment of life, there was hope that emerged even while still holding all of that pain. Wow.

I honestly loved the book but and would’ve given it 5 starts, but i hate how it had the “stander” female role of low self love and being blinded by lust they let the guy walk all over them. But i loved Miles and reading about their story.

The way Miles moves past the death of Clayton at the end feels simplistic and unrealistic.  Instead of making amends with what happened and finding a way to incorporate its reality into present day and joy, Hoover makes it seem like he basically just replaces him.  Didn’t love how it all tied together.
