My 2023 book of the year.

What a life. Incredible what large effect one man had on the entire world.

Overall, well-researched and I felt like I got an inside peek into Rockefeller’s life. I especially loved hearing about Rockefeller’s philanthropies (I had no idea that the University of Chicago was funded by Rockefeller) and how Rockefeller lightened up in later years. That being said, I’m only giving it 3 stars since I feel like the book unfairly characterizes religious people in a negative light.

Interesting and well presented but dense.

Another fantastic biography by Chernow. It was fancy to me to learn all of the things Rockefeller did

A bit dry at times, and in my opinion, a bit too light on the business details of Standard Oil, the book nonetheless does a great job of being impartial around Rockefeller's life and gives a good overview.
informative slow-paced

Although very interesting and a great basis to build knowledge on. I would like to hear more decisive views on the man who shaped the United states and possibly the world during the 1800s and early 1900s.

Another fantastic biography. I really admire and respect the author's research behind the book.
