This series has been on my TBR for so long and I just kept waiting for the right time to start it. I have to admit that the first half of this book felt a bit slow. There was just so much world building and so much set up for the second half of the book. However, I think the buildup was worth it. I LOVED the end of this book. Im not the type of person who likes to guess at the twists that are coming and there were quite a few twists I didnt see coming but loved. I loved how flawed the FMC was and seeing her go from the broken shell that she was in the beginning of the book to a person willing to fight for even the smallest person. And the MMC was just the right amount of morally grey. Their romance was a slow burn and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Mochte es sehr gerne, weil mir bei SJMs Schreibstil einfach auch nie langweilig wird. Hyped für Buch #2!

Ein Stern Abzug, weil ich den Sprung von “Mir wurde das Herz gebrochen, ich will dich nie wieder sehen” zu “Ich flehe weinend die Erzengelin um Gnade an” ohne jegliche Erklärung aufgetischt wurde. Jede andere Gedanke wurde beschrieben, außer dieser?! Oder habe ich da was verpasst?
