It reads well and its a really interesting take on the time-loop plot. The game really does feel like one of those old sierra point and click games in that mistakes and consequences can be abrupt and brutal, which I liked, but also in that there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind which choices are correct, which I found annoying. The main character is not very bright and mostly stumbles bass-ackward through her challenges, which in some places is relatable and endearing and in others is infuriating. The denouement was kind of abrupt and I cannot figure out how the route that "most players" take was supposed to have worked.
Minor: Sexual harassment, Fatphobia, and Death
All the fat characters are in some way incompetent, annoying, weird, or stupid and in her last rundirectorpurry's review against another edition

I love this book. Love love love this book. It's such a fun mix of tech sci-fi and fantasy. It holds up super well to multiple readings--I think I've read it about five times now. I highly recommend it to anyone 5th grade and up. (I probably read it for the first time around 6th or 7th grade.) It's a super fun adventure with relatively little romance and with a very strong, relatable female lead. It has so many memorable characters and is STILL laugh out loud funny even when I knew what was coming.
(Also, even though I said there's not much romance, Giannine and Nigel are OTP. A girl can dream.)
