I've loved everything Mindy Kaling has written and this is no exception. Just wish it was longer!

Super short read. Loved every minute of it though.

An enjoyable, fun, easy listen. With more touching comments on motherhood that I particularly found meaningful. Overall though wish it could have gone deeper and was left wanting more.

I’d never read any of Mindy’s writing before but found it so charming and inviting. She is candid and shares funny stories that could never happen to anyone else. Her own self-awareness (and often lack of) is sweet and each essay has a full story arch & moral takeaway. I feel like I spent the afternoon hanging out with her… and completely resonate with drooling over Kyle Chandler. I really admire this intelligent, airy woman and enjoyed reading her stories.

Mindy Kaling is an incredible story teller, and I especially enjoy listening to her books because only an author can read their work the way they intend it to be read. This collection of essays was amusing, but many of the essays dealt with motherhood, which is a topic I cannot relate to. A mother, however, may read—and therefore rate—this book differently.

As Mindy claims to have met many in her book, I am now also a 30-something woman who wants Mindy to be her best friend

I listened to this as an Audible audiobook narrated by Mindy Kaling herself, and I enjoyed it! Her essays, with each their own gems of insights for the reader, were interesting and fun.

3.5 stars! I have read every single book written by Mindy Kaling and I found this book to be her most mature collection of essays so far. Even though I enjoyed the funnier, less serious chapters, my favorite moments were when she was being vulnerable with the audience. The first chapter about trying to introduce her daughter to Hindu culture and how the chapter ended with her opening up about the loss of her mother -- to me that was the best writing Mindy Kaling has ever done.

You will laugh, you may cry a little too, and you will laugh some more! I highly recommend, especially to those working mommas out there ;-).
