Another amazing story from Ancrum, and I'm unsurprised that I absolutely loved it. The author's note at the end of the book really cemented this one for me as a spectacular book; the context is adds just sharpens the overall message and tone of the story. I was very anxious coming up to the end of this book--having an idea of how the myth goes--but, while I did shed some tears, I feel that it was a very satisfactory and appropriate conclusion to this story. I recommend everyone try out a K. Ancrum book at some point.

I had signed up for a giveaway of a review copy, and while I got this book for free. The second I was done reading, I made sure my preorder was set through my favorite bookstore.

I was already in love with Ancrum's writing style after reading The Weight of the Stars and sobbing the whole last quarter of it. I didn't cry with this book but it still hit me just as hard.

A teen art thief falling in love with the son of the man he's stealing from? Sign me up, I support his crimes. If I tried to write down all the quotes I loved from this book, I'd end up just copying and pasting the whole thing. Icarus and his love for his friends throughout the story was beautiful, a scene that got me was him being asked if it was okay to hug him after a stressful time.

I'm looking forward to rereading and annotating more already.

Mini Audiobook Review: This book was SO incredibly beautiful!!!! As I was listening, I kept just saying wow. The format of the writing was very unique and the chapters are incredibly short. The Song of Achilles is one of my favorite books of all time and I don't know why but this book was giving me the same kind of feels. I am planning on doing a reread of it with the physical book (I did not have it at the time of listen).

Kirt Graves was the narrator and it made listening very easy. I likely could have finish this in a day if time allotted because it just read so quick.

"I was yours before we even met and I'll be yours until we die." I mean come ON! Who doesn't want to be spoken to like this?!

PS - Also how BEAUTIFUL is this cover?!
