It does not feel like a faithful reimagining of the play Macbeth. Lady Macbeth in this story is so docile and does not seem to have any agency (a complete antithesis to the play)
And I really hate how they portrayed the relationship between Lady and Lord Macbeth.

The story and its portrayal were not my cup of tea. But I must say that the writing style was very well executed, and I enjoyed myself throughout the story due to the, in my opinion, very beautiful writing style. I probably will check out other pieces of her work, but I really would not recommend this one if you are a big fan of the play, which I am.

Thank god I read Macbeth in high school, otherwise I really would have had a hard time following this story. The names were really confusing, and I had to keep referring to the index at the beginning.

first half of the book really good. second half ummmm welll yeah.
unnecessary hard names? at first the Lady is portrayed as self assured and with agency and in the second part falls a part bc of a
dragon?!?
the romance was unnecessary. she WAS very cunning and then she loses her wit halfway through…

dragon plotline weird as i stopped reading when he broke out.
Really boring for something as interesting as Macbeth. Nothing was really happening. The writing was weird. I also didn't like the whole "mystical vale" plot. For a story that is a retelling of one of my favorite plays... this does not hold up at all.
