Updated reread on 6/4/2020:

Dropped down from 5 to 3 stars.

This is definitely an improvement over the last two volumes. I'm a little taken aback by how forward Kase is and how quickly she wants to make things physical, but then again that's pretty normal for teenage manga characters. Not much else to say, I decent volume.

Original review posted on 2/19/19:

This volume amped up the drama just a bit, but I didn't feel like it dragged down the story or darkened the cutesy scenes. Yamada is worried that she may not see Kase after they graduate since they will be going to different schools, thus she is conflicted about changing schools or not. While I often question people who want to move close to their lovers (Nana, anyone?) this one makes sense because the university Yamada was originally planning to go to was for literature. This threw me the first time I read this because Yamada has been shown gardening and truly enjoys it, so why would she go to university to study literature? The answer is, from what the story tells me, is location; the university is close to home, while the other university she wants to go to is in Tokyo. I'm thrilled that she came to her own decision in the end, and that ending scene was so adorable, I loved it.

On a separate note, the artwork in this volume is awesome, the shortcake mentioned in the title looks amazing, and Yamada's reaction to looking up "girls more than kissing" on her computer is one of the funniest scenes in manga, period. I truly adore this series, it just makes my heart swell with joy.

Not much happened and the jealousy subplot that's brewing is going to be BAD and there was too much stuff written+drawn for allocishet men in here

This is really freaking good. Very gay, very sweet. I wish they would just talk to each other more but it's super sweet and it's really nice seeing them develop.

Oh snap, the girls are growing up and looking to the future.
I want to see how Yamada makes decisions about her future now, and I hope they’re not just based on Kase.

weird timing in this and the last one - it's like their relationship doesn't progress unless something is on the page so in 1 year of dating they've kissed 3x?

**per person who recommended this to me, this may be characteristic of the way this was published and also the genre of manga this is. I haven't read much manga so idk. Still cute though!!!

Still cute but mostly occupied with the whole 'omg that hot girl is her ex!' but actually she's not her ex, and the whole thing was a misunderstanding situation.
