This was the first book that I read by Murakami and I really loved it. There were some things that I didn't really enjoy but those things didn't take away from the fact that this book was a very enjoyable read and really made me feel real emotions. I do wish the reread this book again when I am older and out of highschool to see how my view about the story will change or if my views will stay the same. I will definitely be reading more Murakami and I will never forget Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki.

I personally didn’t enjoy it. Not enough really happened and the ending was too open for my liking.

At first I didn't really care about any of the characters, especially Tsukuru Tazaki, because I was getting pretty tired of the classic Murakami protagonist (an emotionless 30 year old man who seems to have a taste for teenage girls). However, once the plot got going, I ended up wanting to find out more and naturally got drawn into the story. It ended up being pretty emotional, and I really liked the whole premise of this group of friends that got broken apart. Overall, not my least favorite Murakami book, but it's pretty low on the list.
