love it.It was very intense, especially toward the ending of the book. I kind of feel sorry for Charles and Shuycler becuase they are forced into situtation that they don't like. Again, i love it.

Clearly, having gobbled up this book in three short days, I liked it a lot - this is a very promising new series and I'm not very happy to have to wait for the next installment to come out before learning more about this intriguing historical mystery - who was who when and who will they all be now? It's exhilarating - and of course the romance had me glued to the edge of my seat. Fantastic.

i'm loving this series so much; i read the first book ages ago but then got swept up reading other things, but then i was sorting through my books and found the pile which was just this series (because after reading the first one i bought all the rest from amazon oops) and i'm just going to read them all at once now and revel in it. they're just so enjoyable, and relatively quick to get through as well. i just love this series so much already tbh #noshame

What I like most about these books, especially when I have limited reading time, is that they're incredibly fast reads! So, I already knew that both today and tomorrow my reading time would be limited and I did want to try to still finish a physical book a day. Making this book one of those two books certainly helped a lot and it's nice to know that I already have the third one on the shelves for the near future too.

These books are not very deep, not very emotional or not very outstanding. They're the kind of books sucking you in while you're reading them, but letting you go right afterwards. That's not a bad thing. I can't always read emotional, deep or thought provoking books. Not with the amount of books I read. I like this breath of fresh air in between. And a breath of fresh air it is. Rich people drama, romantic drama and of course entitled vampires.

The series is quite long and in this book that showed in the pacing. When I look at what has actually happened in the book, the answer is not much. And yet I wasn't bored for a second either. For some reason I didn't really notice how little was happening while reading. Probably because these characters are teenagers and are not simply focussed on the bigger storyline. They're also thinking about boyfriends and modeling and finals at school.

What I did like about this book though is that there are a few reveals, especially at the very end, changing the entire game. Especially the last reveal of the book makes everything insanely more interesting and I'm really curious to see how that will work out in future installments. Especially because now both my favorite point of view characters have a big and important role to play. Or well. One of them at least. The question is just. Which one?

I really enjoyed this book - it is not like the Twilight series (which is like a love story) - it is a mystery. I have read all three books in the series and love them!

Melissa de la Cruz did another fantastic job on the sequel of the series. It's very suspenseful with who could be harboring the Silver Blood. After reading this book, it has also left me with more questions then answers, which I love about suspenseful books. I will definitely be continuing this series.
