I posted a story while I was reading this book about how I can at least breathe a little… the joke was on me though, literally the next chapter things started changing and happening and I was holding my breath again. Lady of Embers by Melissa K Roehrich is the fourth book in her Lady of Darkness series and if you haven’t seen my other thought videos, I absolutely LOVE this series. In Lady of Embers we learn so much and trying to keep track of it all is quite the task, but Melissa does a great job of taking us into the story. In each book we get more POVs and I found it was so helpful that the story was told from different characters’ perspectives, especially by this point where they were in so many different locations.
The story has been amazing, just when you think you have something figured out, you learn something new and you have to rethink your thoughts. The characters and how they deal with their own issues as well as one another’s is another thing that stood out to me, there has just been so much growth. The world-building… I love how she built this world and I cannot wait to read this series again before diving into Melissa’s next books.
