Hannah Fry is a mathematician and Adam Rutherford is a geneticist. Both have independently written fascinating books and presented superb documentaries, so they are well placed to explain some of the mysteries of the universe to the rest of us.

In Rutherford and Fry's Complete Guide to Absolutely Everything, they tackle some big subjects such as alien life, how an ancient Greek measured the circumference of the earth, time, doomsday cults, facial expressions and much much more. Maybe they don't really explain absolutely everything, but they do cover a broad range of topics including how long it takes animals to empty a full bladder, whether anything is perfectly round and can Ant-man breathe?

The two are friends in real life and that comes across in the affably accessible bantering tone of the book. They also present a podcast The Curious Cases of Rutherford & Fry. I'm not a podcast sort of person and therefore haven't listened to it, but I'm sure it's equally excellent as this fun and informative volume.
