This book was much darker than I expected after reading the blurb. It’s not your typical dark romance, it was rough and gritty and the emotional turmoil had your heart breaking for the characters.

The characters each had their own struggles that they had to overcome and they found strength and acceptance with one another. I wasn’t initially sure how I felt about the relationship but it worked for the characters and they were able to get a well deserved happily ever after.

There is a mental health aspect to this book that’s not just swept under the rug, it is addressed and it plays a large role in the story.

This is definitely a different darker romance that will make you feel on a deeper emotional level.

Beautifully Broken

When The Bloom Burns tore my heart in two, sewed it up only to break it again.

I had no idea what to expect going into this. You have Aekta and Ignacio both trying to heal from their pasts, but when their worlds collide, it’s nothing like you believe.

I loved getting both of their perspectives, all of the aftermath. Their thoughts and reactions from the beginning to the love for all in the end.

YD La Mar and Selena Michaels writing is so beautifully written and devastatingly tragic.

Going in blind I feel is the best way to read WTBB, but do be wary of the triggers.

I highly recommend When The Bloom Burns! Go preorder now!

Thank you to YD La Mar & Selena Michaels for an ARC!
