I wasn’t expecting to like a book about murderous clowns, but colour me impressed! I throughly enjoyed this novel. There’s something about an 80s inspired horror that tickles an itch when you’re reading. It’s just right, you know?

I loved that the characters were pretty fleshed out for a short book. We didn’t know too much about Ruth though, I would’ve liked to have known more about her and her motivations. While it was obvious she had an unhealthy obsession, I wonder how it started.

I also felt terrible for all of the clown characters, they were all victims in the end, even though they killed a lot of people. Specifically Sully, she had a hard life and it just went from bad to worse once she got a hold of the candy floss. While I’m on the topic of the candy floss. That was such a new and cool way to start a horror. I loved it!

Overall I rate this 5/5 stars, a gory fun read that didn’t take too long!

What a roller coaster, took some time to establish the characters before the fast turns and gory action! Written like an 80's slasher film, this was such a fun read. Full of great characters, murderous clowns and gruesome unique kills. A must read for any horror fan especially if you love a great 80's slasher that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Bloody, gory, sugary sweet… this was one hell of a ride. I loved the first book I read by Christopher Robertson which was Virgin Night and this one was even better! I love how chaotic and insane it was. Full of terrifying clowns and brilliant characters.

"I think we need to stop asking why and just accept this whole carnival's fucked up beyond all recognition..."

Such an 80’s slasher and just enough depth to distinguish characters and a plot that was rooted in a true crime in that world. This was fantastic, ay yup! SO many versions of killer clowns and I loved it, this was such a trip!

If you like chaotic clowns, lots of gore and a creepily eerie vibe then step right up, because this is for you!

Looking forward to reading part toots.

Holy crap if I could give 10 stars I would! I’ve never read a slasher book before but this one set the bar high! I couldn’t put it down. I really would love to see Christopher Robertson make this into an 80s style movie. It’s got gore, a creepy ass carnival and teenage love. Everything you could ever want!
