Brilliantly written with an unexpected twist. It is a story of few misfortunate people who happened to come under one roof. Author described devastating happenings to the characters in a simplest manner, as if they are just part of plan or as it is how they supposed to happen. Characters will stay with for a very long period.
If you like Thousand Splendid Suns by Hossein Khaled, you would love 'A Fine Balance'. It is so much better with much less drama.

Not my cup of tea. I found it very hard to get into and kept wondering why on earth I was forcing myself to read it. Then I remembered that I had four co-workers waiting on word of what I thought of it....
