I enjoyed the style of writing but unsure of how I feel about the actual plot line. I hoped for more emotions from the three main characters. Can someone please explain the ending to me?

In my opinion, this was a better version of Rooney’s Normal People, which for some reason gets a lot more attention.

This book was a great character development story but not the best for people who prefer very plot heavy stories. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and I felt that the main character was very relatable and engaging while also being easy to hate and find frustration with.

This book has better diverse representation than Normal People and other comps which is why I really enjoyed it and found it more realistic.

Really enjoyed this book the majority of the read, unfortunately they lost me at the end with an unsatisfactory and unclear ending. Walked away feeling like I'd wasted my time if this was the conclusion aka there wasn't one.

But I was enjoying the plot and the main characters were all well thought out and richly diverse. I could imagine them all in my head hence the rating being pretty high for this book. Just wish the ending hadn't disappointed me as much as it did

I found this book so so slow and not in a slow burn way. It started to pick up for me in Part III Edith and Julien though. I decided to read this book because I love Sally Rooneys books but I think this one leans more depressing and cynical and any sort of love introspection. It was okay but not a favorite, personally.
