I was interested in Marcus’ story the first time he was introduced. I was hooked at psychopath and dead eyes. His own brothers were a leery of him. Evelyn is a great balance and I liked how she saw past what everyone else saw.

After finishing Dangerous, I immediately wanted Marcus’s story. He is such an intriguing character who is dark and oh so dangerous. Evelyn is a honey-trap, sent to steal from Marcus. However, she gets more than she bargained for when she meets this enigmatic brother. Both are drawn to each other, in ways they can’t explain. When confronted by her “employer” about the flash drive she stole from Marcus, she finds herself protecting him, consequences be damned. She is taken and beaten, but Marcus comes to her rescue.
I really liked both characters and once again the narration was fantastic! Marcus is dark and dangerous, but with a surprising soft side. Evelyn is the perfect strong woman in need of a little support in her life that is killing her slowly. However, his need to have a baby with her seemed a little out of place. I loved how compassionate Evelyn was toward Marcus and how protective he was of her, but I think the middle of their relationship was a little rushed to their conflict. Add the chaos of the ending that tackled some major plot points rather too quickly for my taste, and combined caused this second story in the series to fall a little short of the mark for me. It was a good story, but it had the potential to be great.

Monster is book two in the Made & Broken series, and I received a copy from the author. Marcus hulks out like a monster and literally rips his victims to pieces while in an anger cloud. Evelyn is a honey pot sent in to charm him while retrieving a drive that has incriminating evidence.
What did I like? Marcus was at the least intense asf. His bargain with Evelyn was eye raising but I guess when one of the brothers meets it’s better half it just knows. Evelyn is just coerced into the ride. Angst and fun mafia romance.
Would I recommend or buy? If you like mafia romances this one is angsty and brutal. Marcus has this nickname for a reason and he doesn’t disappoint. Evelyn however misses a fear factor. Book two in a series and I missed book one... so not sure if reading pleasure is reduced.

Author gave me an audio code for this off Authors Direct, and I just love it! The voices did a splendid job! I really liked the man and woman’s voice and especially the accent. Loved it five stars!
