it took me FOREVER to read this book. it dragged for sooooo long during the first 100 pages but after that i read it within a day after it taking me months. the ending was super rushed, everything eventful happening in the last 40 pages. i hate that. overall, i love the representation but the book could have done so much more instead of dragging on the whole book.

[audiobook] - Immediately immersive and interesting. Reads very easily and quickly. I was fascinated by all the plant information, must have taken quite a bit of research. I loved Bri's parents and their relationship. I'm excited for the sequel and glad I already have it on my shelf. 

SO now I'm gonna read The Secret Garden (as this is a retelling)...

While I absolutely loved the characters in this book, one of the very few things I disliked was the age gap between the love interest and the protagonist. With an underaged protagonist and the love interest being an immortal of over 300 years, it made me very uncomfortable to think about the power dynamic this creates. However, the romance in the book is pretty subtle and the rest was so good, that I would definitely still recommend it!
