This book finally brings us back to Jamie’s POV and it is heartbreaking. The abuse and hell he’s gone through and still suffering are enough to rip you apart. Even the long awaited reunion with Brian is enough to kill you . . . The ending, though. A tiny glimmer of hope.

My heart hurts so very badly for these boys. So much happens to them throughout this series. Some of it is within their realm of control, while other things very much aren't. I honestly don't know which is more difficult to read, but all of it makes me want to hug them and tell them it'll all work out in the end. It just has to, because if any two guys deserve a happy ending, it's Brian and Jamie.

The fourth book of the series starts where 'Little Boy Lost: Vanished' left off. But now it's changed the point of view to Jamie. I liked Brian and were used to his thinking and point of view so it through me off at first. But with the story developing I don't even start to like the new point of view but I also see that it was necessary. No one else could show the fear, self-hatred and despair but Jamie.
It was a very tough read. His situation and his past were shocking and tragic. But the toughest part to read was the despair,self-abandonment and fear he lives in. Brian tries his best to get back with Jamie. And without hearing Jamie's voice in this book I wouldn't understand why Jamie rejected the help. And that is very painful to read.
because it's so well written and real for me. I couldn't put the book down and more than once I found myself in tears. I might have confused some fellow passengers on my train to work.
I thought of taking a few weeks and books off before I finish the series. But after I've read the last sentence I started with no. 5 immediately.

4.5 stars. This book was a painful read, especially watching through flash-backs as Jaimie made bad decisions over and over. But they were based on what he believed to be true, driven by fear, and understandable. I liked the reactions of the people around him, from Alex's compassion to Mike's distrust and anger. Another engrossing book that kept me up far too late because I couldn't put it down.

Jamie has been found and he's been abused and exploited. Other than that, not a whole lot happens in this book. I feel the series is really dragging and this was more like half a book now. Also it's hideously depressing.
