TITLE: The Damaged
GENRE: New Adult Romance, Suspense
AUTHOR: TIJAN
TROPE: Insta-Love, Billionaire
TYPE: Trilogy (The Insiders Series Book 2)
POV: Multiple POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

Wow, I love this series so far! The Damaged managed to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. One of the things I loved about the series so far is multiple villains are impacting the main characters adding to the suspense. Bailey struggles with PTSD after the two failed kidnapping attempts in book one, all while building a stronger relationship with Kash and her new family members. On top of that, Bailey is starting College while dealing with the threat of Kash's grandfather looming over them. I loved seeing the relationship and bond between Kash and Bailey grow. The cliffhanger was not what I was expecting, but I look forward to what comes next. For anyone that enjoyed The Insiders, you will enjoy the second book in the trilogy. I can't wait until book 3! I love a good cliffhanger which this has, but I hate waiting too long to find out what happened. Please don't make me wait too long TIJAN!

What the freak!!?!??!?!?! I just finished and oh my gosh. The ending was definitely an amazing explosion of a cliffhanger. I thought this second installment was the last... there has to be a third book and a fourth and a fifth, and forever more. Lol The ending had me tearing up. The surprise ending had me turnt up! It took me a few days to read this but thats because I have three boys and it's summer time! I was enthralled from book one and this book shifted so smoothly and I loved every second of Bailey and Kashtons tale. The love and passion is real and feels real. It feels like I'm in this story and I'm rooting for them hardcore. I love Matt. I love Chrissy!!!!! I love Ser and Cyclone, they are the perfect siblings but my gosh the story is just full of details and I can feel the chemistry and family dynamic. Im a bit confused on Marie, I know there's more to that so im patiently waiting for that explanation. Anyways geeeeez this story swallowed me in and I lost track of when it would end so when I ended so abruptly I was shook. I didnt even notice I was at the end sadly. I need book three. Im so happy that I have this ARC so big thanks for Netgalley and TIJAN. Just wow. That ending. What the heck. What the heck is happening.. I'll be stuck on this. Im stuck. Lol The Bastion family is something I need more of. Help. Send Help. Send book 3, LOL!! Im really loving this series. LOVE!!!

I’ve read and lived many of Tijan’s books and this series is pulling at my heart way more that I thought it will.
Damn, that cliffhanger moment made me shout out loud at my kindle.
More secrets and drama are uncovered in this book and while I’m all invested in the romance story, which is hot as expected, I need to read more of the suspenseful part because I didn’t expect that!

What a ride! You can never go wrong with this series.

The Damaged was a good read overall. I enjoyed the tension and drama. The introduction of new characters and a new setting for Bailey at school brought a lot of interesting dynamics to the read. I didn't think there was nearly enough interaction between Kash and Bailey. It was a whole lot of Bailey left to fend for herself and try to figure things out with minimal information. I enjoyed the bond that Matt and Bailey continued to build on as new found siblings. They evened each other out well in this story.

This read had a ton of filler, which is pretty typical of the second book in a trilogy. I just craved something more. For a story line with so much chaos and deception and so many webs already have been spun, there wasn't enough going on in this one.

That ending I did not see coming! I thought it was an incredible cliffhanger for the story.

The Damaged picks up where things were left hanging in The Insiders and this story leads to some answers, even more questions, and one doozy of a cliffhanger!

I LOVE Bailey! The woman has been through a lot, she has a lot of people against her, yet she keeps fighting. She is insanely smart and talented and she isn’t about to let a few people get into her head. Kash has gotten even more protective of Bailey and I love that. He is slowly letting her in somewhat, but also doing everything that he can to ensure her safety.

Kash and Bailey’s relationship has strengthen and their bond has grown throughout this book. I absolutely love their relationship and I am looking forward to seeing how the relationship continues further, especially after the events at the end of the story.

I am loving Team Batt! I absolutely love the bond and relationship that Matt and Bailey have developed over the course of books 1 and 2. I can’t wait to see how that relationship continues in the next book.

I loved that there were a few chapters from Kash’s POV and getting inside his mind a little bit! I hope there is more of that to come.

If you’re looking for a romantic suspense story check this one out, but you must read The Insiders first!

3.75* spoilers !

so sorry it’s 2am. here’s a rare busy crazy review rant thing bc i’m bored and if i don’t get these thoughts written i’ll keep thinking abt it

was very excited for this but it was a slow read for me only bc i felt like nothing was really happening. it was a lot of background stuff and i had trouble remembering events and people from the first book but after the 75% mark the plot was getting good and quick. also love the development between matt and bailey i hope we see more of them but god that cliff hanger?-?:?:$&3 the last three chapters were intense and now we gotta wait even longer.

to summarize it in more depth, the short chapters helped me get through this, a lot of the plot i thought was gonna be the main point of this book was swept away and was only there at the end of the book especially with the whole quinn thing. there was maybe three mentions of quinn and where she was at that present time not including flashbacks and i thought she would be more of a person of interest when it comes to antagonist. i don’t even think she had any dialogue, and i found that weird bc she was literally part of the cliff hanger in the first one and you’d think we would see her more in this one.

and also the grandfather,, he was barely in it? like twice maybe three times idk he was the main villain and he wasn’t even present really so i was just kinda confused but that’s why i feel like it was slow. a lot of this book was development of the characters and relationships along with minor subplots, which is fine and i don’t mind at all but i genuinely found the main plot with quinn and the grandfather to be very interesting as well from the first book and i was bummed it wasn’t explored more along with the subplots and development of the characters in my honest opinion.

moving on, the last two chapters were intense im so sad for bailey shes really going through a lot. this book really tested her strength and durability as a character especially since her life was completely flipped in a short period of time and although i do wish we could’ve seen more of her being a bad ass hacking into shit and ruining everyone’s lives like they deserve, i understand why there really wasn’t that. thinking more about it now, this book really focused on bailey and how she was and wasn’t coping but at the same time it never really hit home like i expected either,? idk a lot of this book ran flat compared to the first one but once i got 75-80% through it was just flying i wish the entire book was that easy to read especially bc that cliff hanger oh man oh man

overall not exactly disappointing but not blown away like i was with the first one but i will be seated for the final book because i’m invested and that cliff hanger messed me up.
