fernbomb's review against another edition
I went into this audiobook knowing nothing, but I was immediately hesitant when I realized this was a book written by a man where a young woman suffering with addiction is the main character. I should have listened to that immediate red flag because DAMN this book is wildly queer-phobic and transphobic. How the hell did this book get published and how does it have such a good rating?? I was shook when the author wrote about children’s books including both descriptions of sexual acts with queer people, like the fuck? Stop pushing your trans and queer-phobic agenda. The author is an absolute idiot.
Graphic: Homophobia and Transphobia

1.5
Right-wing thriller— which was super disappointing. A lot of racism with an extra dose of transphobia.
Only reason why it’s not a 1 star is because I appreciated the experimental format of the book. The illustrations were really cool and enhanced the story. And it’s something I’ve not seen done before.
