The ending felt like a let down imo, but it wasn’t terrible. I enjoyed it and I liked the illustrations. It was a pretty easy read with the writing style.

I liked the set up and the mystery of the ghost + foil of an addict adding to the unreliable narrator trope. The characters were pretty 2 dimensional except for the main character and the weird psychic next door (a character I loved). If that had been more developed I would’ve given this a 5.

Wow. Wow wow wow wow wow.
This book was PERFECTION. I loved every second of it. For starters, it is perfectly written in my opinion. The imagery and flow and cadence of the story and characters was just amazing. The overall originality of the story is also noteworthy. This must be made into a movie... and soon.
The characters were great. Mallory is the perfect main character for a story like this. She was beautifully described and well rounded. The twists were fantastic as well. Even the more predictable ones were satisfying to the last drop.
Also, the ending to me was exactly what I would have wanted but also what made the most sense. It was satisfying and felt true to the nature of the story itself.
This is a thick one - but I flew through it. The hype is real. Get this one and read it. Might be my new favorite of the year!

Finished in one day and loved it. Not at all what I expected! I almost want to reread it knowing what I know now. Absolutely wild ending.
