No wonder this book got so much hype! I truly don't have any critiques about this book. I didn't think I would be so engrossed in a travel memoir (StoryGraph reading challenge moment), but this is superbly written, and every story merges perfectly with their designated flashbacks. There were times at which I was wondering what the connection was between the two, but Jones never failed to wrap it up nicely and top it with a bow.
Graphic: Pregnancy, Ableism, Animal death, and Body shaming
Moderate: Blood, Injury/Injury detail, and Death
Minor: Abortion, Alcohol, Confinement, Gun violence, and Genocide
Very graphic deaths of dogs in two different chapters. If this is something that bothers you, either prepare yourself when she first discusses her parents being in Kathmandu and after she visits the Killing Fields, or find a way to skip these segments entirely.caseythereader's review against another edition
