Not a fan of this book, not sure how I finished it. The orc had a good personality but sadly he and all of the other characters lacked dimension. The main character elf annoyed me. Story ended in a way that left me spiteful

Enjoyable overall. Found the lack of communication annoying and the MC was frustratingly easy to sway in certain situations, especially
near the end with severing the bond. Some doubt was understandable, but to be so quickly and easily convinced was frustrating to read. Taegan already regretted letting Zarvut flee but then on a dime cut him out completely.


That one plot point and the miscommunication aside, I enjoyed the book and will probably continue the series.

I wanted some pretty light and short to get into audiobooks and this helped me test what I could and couldn't do while still following along. It served my purpose and I'm intrigued enough to finish out the trilogy. Taegan just kind of makes me laugh because of how he is, so I'm interested in the way you might watch an orange cat with the zoomies. What is this bumbly baby gonna do next? Lovingly, when it is his turn with the brain cell? Why do I kind of hope he never gets it?

Wish the audiobook narrator had enunciated the names a little better because I personally heard "Zorbut" and not "Zorvut" until I went back to written description about halfway through.

This was an overall lower stakes romance
(of course till stuff hit the fan as it tends to do around two-thirds of the way through most romantasy books)
between two heirs to their respective kingdoms – one orc & the other elven – as they marry as a sign of good faith in signing a treaty between their  kingdoms. The way their love story unfolded was beautiful to read and you best bet I unexpectedly cried my eyes out on a couple of occasions over them 🥲

I enjoyed the book. I found the smut the primary point of the book but well balanced with the world building. I was what I expected and I enjoyed it. 




Not fond of the unnecessary death of the horse though, im.hoping it ties into the second book

It was a fun lil romance book. I listened to the audiobook and maybe that was a mistake bc the actor gave Zorvut a voice like Piccolo lmao. Otherwise I enjoyed it!
