Got a little slow in places the middle (Ms. Girl needs an editor there was no reason for this to be 600 pages) but overall a fun sexy engrossing read and I'm looking forward to the third!
I gotta say though at the end
when Lucien saw Elaine as his mate
it was giving the part in Twilight Breaking Dawn when
Jacob imprints on Renesmee
lmao

THIS BOOK. UGH.

I'm sorry, I am entirely unable to formulate any kind of proper review for this. It was trash (but absolutely the best kind, hence the full marks), I loved every second of it and I am picking up the third one tomorrow on my lunch break. I am utterly and unashamedly obsessed.

Also...

SPOILER (KINDA)

January 3-5 2022 - 2022 me was notorious for rating books and not leaving a review. But I’m 100% I was just too emotional to put my thoughts down. Because I know for a fact that I have a handful of Snapchats where I’m just a sobbing mess from those last few chapters

“Love-love was a balm as much as it was a poison.”

OH MY…

I really did not think that this series could get any better after the first book. Glad to be wrong! The first book was “merely” 500+ pages of groundwork! I did not expect the twists and turns this book would take.

In a very real way, Maas explores what a person would actually go through after the things that Feyre endured in ACOTAR. I understood the depression, the nightmares, all the signs and symptoms of PTSD. I loved how Maas also showed how loved ones with the best intentions can fail to see that their of idea of helping you, is actually suffocating you. It was difficult to read those parts, but the perspective was just so honest.

AND then…oh my goodness, I don’t want to spoil anything here, but the relationships in this book are so solidly built, the foundation of Feyre’s much longed for family is forged. The character development soars in leaps and pounds and…wings. The story just moves constantly forward, the universe expands, and the different settings and environments are just so clear.

And of course, the romance…sigh…chapter 54 just spells out the love one person can have for another, when even words are beyond expression-which is expressed in sizzling detail in chapter 55.
