I don’t think the author has ever actually met a woman before. I wish the rest of the book even somewhat made up for it, but alas

I'm sure this book is lovely and has lots to offer someone. It was just so painfully obvious that it was written by a man in 1971 whenever the narrative followed a woman. I see no reason to keep reading when there's a whole cosmos of fresh and delightful horror out there, starring characters that wrap their fists around my heart and squeeze. We all die someday after all.
