For a story about sex that was written by two men, this was surprisingly feminist! It approached sexuality including masturbation and kinks in an non-judgmental and realistic way, and even addressed slut shaming. And it was really funny, as a graphic novel about a couple who freezes time upon orgasm and thus rob banks ought to be. Since this was the first volume, there was more backstory than action, else I may have gone for five stars. I look forward to the second volume!

I read Saga earlier on in the month and really enjoyed it, so thought I would give another from Image Comics a go - I found this one to be good but maybe not as appealing to me as Saga was. In saying that though I still found the story to be engaging so I may pick up the second volume in the future to see where the plot goes from here.

- So we follow a girl named Suzie, when Suzie has sex she can stop time - up until now she has been alone in her gift until she discovers Jon. When Jon and Suzie have sex they manage to completely stop time around them and this leads to all sorts of mischief! A side line to the story is that Suzie works in a library that needs a lot of money to pay back the bank (otherwise it will close down.). The bank in question is in fact where Jon works...and Jon really hates his job. So they come up with a plan to stop time and rob the bank in the hopes of saving the library - yay!

- I think the overall plotline of this book is really quite funny and unique. I found myself chuckling at the various situations they get themselves stuck-in and the mysterious enemy that arises whilst they are stopping time. I did really enjoy the story and as I said before I will probably get the next one but I'm not eager to jump into it straight away.

- 3.5 out of 5 stars from me! I would recommend to anyone who fancies a light-hearted comical read. Oh and the illustrations are pretty rad as well!

I really liked this.

Definitely an interesting premise! I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

This isn't what I expected at all. I think I expected dirty sex references and crime but there are actually a lot of sex positive messages in here like exploring one's sexuality and slut shaming. There's also this thing where Suzie and Jon break the fourth wall and talk directly to the reader which is kind of cool.

I think my biggest problem was the way the plot jumps between past and present. It took me a little while to get used to. It also made the introduction of the Sex Police not as smooth as it should have been.

A+ for dealing with pertinent sex topics. I'll definitely be picking up volume 2.

Reading this graphic novel's summary on Amazon made me want to read it in an instant. WTF! A couple finds out they can stop time whenever they orgasm and then decides to rob a bank so they can save a local library from foreclosing?! So much for interrobangs but yeah this one's ridiculous and hilarious. Can't wait for the TV adaptation!

Is a great graphic novel. I can't wait to read the second part. I hope is as good as this one. The story line is interesting, is very nice narrated and has a lot of humor and irony. I like how they develop the story and jumped in times to narrate how they arrive to the bank. The colors of the graphics are very well done and you can notice how much time the illustrator spend on it.

3.5 stars

Suzie always thought she was unique. When she orgasms, Suzie stops time. Then she met Jon, who experiences the same phenomenon. After numerous humorous and sexy encounters, they fall in love. The duo decide to use their powers for the obvious thing. They rob banks. It’s then that Suzie and Jon learn they aren’t as unique as they once thought.

Fraction, well known for his excellent, quirky takes on Hawkeye, largely tackles the potentially controversial proceedings with aplomb, skill, and laughter. Zdarsky’s often surreal illustrations mesh effortlessly with the writing. Initially recalling the romantic elements of Ken Grimwood’s classic novel [b:Replay|341735|Replay|Ken Grimwood|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1408503610s/341735.jpg|1804797], Sex Criminals Volume One: One Weird Trick sadly stumbles during its final third with the inclusion of stereotypical comic book tropes.

Super raunchy and fun.
