Meg Cabot

3.78 AVERAGE

Guilty pleasure, at a higher level. I don't know what it is but I really enjoy Cabot's writing style, and I have respect for her writing that I can't gather for any other chick lit novelist.

Oh Heather Wells! I have been on a roll getting to follow Heather in her journey in the residence halls and what an adventure. I will say for me, the rating wasn't for the mystery but for the characters and their progress. Gavin is a favorite of mine! Now, for the next book

I thought I liked Meg Cabot, but everything I've read lately has ranged from annoyingly dull to painfully awful.

Not as action packed at the last two. Less trying to find the killer and more Heather going through the motions! But the ending! Cooper! Ah

Another engaging Heather Wells mystery.

I don't think Meg Cabot can write a book that I won't enjoy.

A fun summer read.

Heather Wells is one of those characters that I keep thinking about even after the story is finished. But, this third book wasn't as good as the first two. There was a lot of repetition of things in this book (primarily Heather's weight and how much she didn't enjoy her boss), but then I think about if a couple days of my life were condensed I'd be thinking about the same things repeatedly so ah well. But seriously, it drives me nuts how often she and other people talk about how "big boned" she is. Height makes a difference with weight, but seriously size 12/14 isn't obese or plus size, yet Heather is constantly reminded how overweight she is. Maybe I'm a little touchy about my own weight... but srsly...

Anyway, the plot was meh, I'm not feeling the whole random death in every book thing, but I like the characters so I'll keep going.

Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Ehhh. These aren't as great as I remember.  Decent amounts of diet culture in this one. Heather still is a signature Cabot heroine, but... eh.
