Loved this book

I tried to love this book. I really did!

I have trouble picking up series' involving fey because I'm very particular about my fey/faery mythologies... That, and comparing the new one to another that I love, and we all know how well that usually goes..... So it has LITERALLY taken me years to even read Wicked Lovely because I was afraid just from the synopsis that I'd hate it.

I didn't hate it. But I certainly didn't like it enough to want to read any more books in this series.
I found it to be predictable and a tad boring. That, and Ash was really hard to connect with. All of her whiney inner dialogue mixed in with the innuendos (that felt really uncomfortable) between her and Seth was a little much.

Sorry to my friends who love this series. It's just not happening for me.

Aislinn has seen fairies her whole life. There are certain rules you must follow when it comes to these creatures; don't share, don't talk to them, and don't run. But what do you do when the Summer King is intent on getting your attention and your love?

Aislinn feels adrift as Keenan is determined to pursue her. Despite her feelings for the mortal Seth, Aislinn is sucked into a world she has never wanted - the fey world. Keenan needs her to restore the balance, if she's the right one. Does she dare try, putting her grandmother and Seth at risk?

This story is adventurous, exciting, and flows well throughout. Aislinn is a believable character with many flaws but many good aspects as well. A great story.

After several disappointing adult fiction books, I decided to veer off into YA fiction and boy, am I glad I chose this book. Intriguing premise with a strong female lead.

I love stories about the Fae and this one managed to tell a compelling, contemporary tale with plenty of room to grow.

So I finally got around to reading Wicked Lovely. A few years back, I accidentally read Ink Exchange (the second book in the series) without realizing it was a part of a series. As soon as i found out it was a part of a 5 book series, I was more than excited, since I loved it so much!

Wicked Lovely is the story of Aislinn (or Ash). Ash is seventeen years old and for her entire life she could see faeries. When you think faeries, you think cute, innocent and lovable. But, no. The faeries Ash sees are evil, dark, menacing. Her entire life she has tried not to attract their attention and act like she can’t see them, but after meeting Keenan (a fey that wouldn’t stop stalking her), she can’t seem to be able to rid of them or their attention.

What Ash doesn’t know is that Keenan is the Summer King. He has been looking for a queen to reign by his side for his entire life. For centuries, every girl Keenan chose to be his potential Summer Queen, has either become a summer fey of his court, or risked her life for him and now lived with the Winter Chill inside her. The next girl Keenan chose is Ash.

This story was really interesting! It was nice to read about something that’s as unconventional as evil faeries, the Winter Queen and of course, the gorgeous Summer King. Ash’s character is strong, opinionated and animate. She doesn’t just accept her situation and doesn’t fall head over heels over Keenan. She stands for what she believes in, her loved ones and her mortality.

The writing was fantastic, just like I remembered it being in Ink Exchange! I loved the storyline, I loved Donia and Kennan’s story, I loved the amazing bond Seth and Ash have and I especially loved the whole idea of life as a fey. The story was very enjoyable and was a really fun and quick read for me! If you are looking for a book you’re not going to be able to put down- this is the book for you!

Okay...this book was just a no in my eyes. I gave it two times to read it. But it was painful for me to read. I kept glancing at the clock every 5 minutes, and it never seemed to get better. The characters were not impressive, and I'm just gonna go read [b:A Storm of Swords|62291|A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, #3)|George R.R.
