WICKED LOVELY wasn't a bad read - in fact I liked the majority of it. However, with that being said, the whole Ash-Keenan-Seth triangle (added with Donia) kind of grated. It's definitely NOT romantic to me when a guy and a girl (in this case, Ash and Keenan) have to be together while not actually being together. What's the point of their becoming the Summer King and Queen when she stays with Seth and he has sex with Donia (even if they are in love with them and not each other). Don't get me wrong, I wanted Seth and Ash to be together, and I also wanted Keenan and Donia to be together - but regardless, you don't have two people who are meant for each other (she was supposed to be the Queen after all) "marry" or whatever it was they did, and then keep their other love monkeys. But as that was at the end of novel, I was pretty good during the rest of it. Like I said, I liked the majority of it - it just bothered me a trifle at the end.

I really liked the emo/goth vibe from Aislinn and Seth, and I liked that Keenan/donia and Aislinn and Seth were able to be happy together and Keenan +aislinn wasn’t forced. I will say their honestly wasn’t a plot. It was a lot of aislinn hating the Fey, and the Fey chasing her, and then aislinn becoming Fey anyways. Kinda boring but feel it leading to a great finale by book 5! Fav character: Keenan
I really enjoyed this book. It was one I have been looking at for a long time and I picked up the first one to see how the series was...if I got into it or not. Now I can't wait to get the next book!
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that they did not insinuate that Keenan may be Ash's father, since he had a relationship with her mother. I do hope that we learn more about Ash's mother and grandmother and why they have the sight as the series progresses. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that she is still with Seth.

Wicked Lovely is one of the many young adult supernatural romanace novels to follow in the wake of the successful Twilight series.
The main character is a human girl who can see faeries, and the story begins when the faeries start to take more than a passing interest in her.
Most of the story relies heavily on Faerie culture and tradition around what I guess is best described as arraged marriages. Which I felt was a detriment as I hardly relate to the issues that surround a faerie court.
The other main problem I have with this novel which may be a complaint about teen novels in general is that the author seems to use writing for teenagers as an excuse to have poorly described settings and blunt showing rather than telling.
If you're looking for an urban fantasy with a good mix of action and romance, Wicked Lovely doesn't satisfy the latter, the story revolves around a love triangle, so if thats your thing great! If not probably give this story a miss.

It was amazing. I can't wait to read the next book, even if I kinda have worried feelings towards it. I do like how the book (In my eyes) didn't really leave you hanging. Like you could stop at this book and everything would be fine and cool. Though as a reader once I start a series I have to finish it. I enjoyed this book very much and think others should read it as well.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I started it on a whim but it didn't take long until I was sucked in. The only thing I had trouble with was that the male human character had facial piercings and a belly button ring. To me, it's not hot to slip my pinky through a dude's belly button ring. But, that's just me.
Also, I have NO idea how to prounounce 50% of the names in this book.
I'd actually give this book a 3.75 because I felt that Aislinn didn't struggle with her decision as much as she should have. We were left with some unresolved issues that I assume will be addressed in the next books, but it seemed they were just swept under the rug. I hope we get resolution on those.
All in all, a good solid start to a series & I am ready to start the second book!

3.5 stars for promising characters but uneven pacing. I almost gave a higher rating on the strengths of the main characters alone. However, I was surprised and disappointed at how short the climactic scene was and at how quickly and easily everything was resolved after the obstacles driving the storyline (especially Beira) had been built up as near-insurmountable.
